The Quinta dos Barretos Building, dates from the late 19th century and is located at the northern entrance of Vila Nova de Monsarros, next to the main road, surrounded by dense greens, surrounded by agricultural fields where the Serra River runs smiling through the landscape. surrounding.
It is a Palace inserted in the so-called Quinta do Barreto, a name that derives from the name of its first owner, Joaquim Ferreira Barreto, owner of some farms on the island of S. Tomé e Príncipe (former Portuguese colony), having lived there for many years. and from there he brought the architectural style of the time that characterizes this beautiful mansion.
The property stands out for its grandeur and refinement, looking more like a true English-style Cathedral, where you can see two towers (called turrets) in which on top of each one stands a lightning rod, whose roof on each of the towers forms a true cone that beautifies the entire building!

In the 1980s, the building was acquired by the former owners of Colégio de Anadia, veterinarian Dr. Manuel dos Santos Oliveira and his wife Dr. Albertina Oliveira.
